🎉 Frontia Web Play Update 🎉

Everyone... I've been waiting for this moment 😭
Whenever I played an episode featuring my favorite character, I wished I could see them on a bigger screen. A phone felt just a little too small, but the old PC version of Frontia was missing too many features to make playing easy 😭

But now ❗️

We've redesigned the web play screen so you can immerse yourself in Frontia's stories more easily and comfortably on PC!

We've refined play controls for larger screens and keyboards.
We've added play options that help you enjoy episodes like a movie.
We've also tailored the mobile web experience to fit your screen size.

1. A refreshed play screen for PC and mobile web

On PC web, the wider screen lets you see the story and the information you need for play at a glance.
On mobile web, buttons and menus are arranged to fit your screen size.

Keep playing comfortably with a keyboard and mouse on PC, or by tapping the screen on mobile!

2. Play more comfortably with Auto-advance and keyboard controls!

Auto-advance is now available on the web, so the story can continue naturally without you having to keep tapping the screen.

You can turn Auto-advance on or off in any of these ways:
1️⃣ While play is in progress, press Spacebar to play or pause Auto-advance.
2️⃣ Click the center of the play screen to play or pause Auto-advance.
3️⃣ Click the play button in the upper-right corner of the play screen to play or pause Auto-advance.

[PC keyboard shortcuts]

On PC, you can open key features directly from the keyboard. When you start web play for the first time, the on-screen controls guide also shows the shortcuts below.

When a video is playing, press Spacebar to play or pause the video.

📌 While entering the Protagonist's action or dialogue, typing and cursor movement take priority over shortcuts.

3. Check the story so far and your current Status right away!

On PC web, you can check History directly in the side panel next to the play screen.

💡 Just press the H keyboard shortcut to quickly open History in the sidebar!

[Status]

Status gives you an intuitive view of the current values showing how the characters and Protagonist have changed in the story.

💡 Open Status by pressing the S keyboard shortcut or selecting the status indicator in the upper-right corner of the screen!

4. Everything you need for play in one place — Play menu 📜

Select the menu icon in the upper-right corner of the play screen, or press the ESC keyboard shortcut, to open the Play menu and adjust settings for your play experience.

The following features are available in the Play menu:

My info: View or edit the Protagonist's profile and notes
Event map: Review the path the story has taken so far
Model: Choose the AI model used for play
Play settings: Adjust Auto-advance, sound, text, and display settings
Exit episode: Leave the current play session and return to the episode screen

💌 For Directors: Landscape backgrounds made for web play

To help the scenes you create look natural on a wide PC screen, you can now add Landscape images separately to Background media in Frontia Studio.
This reduces the cropping or stretching that can occur when existing Portrait images are used on a wide screen, and better preserves your intended composition and atmosphere.

[How to add Landscape images]

Go to Frontia Studio → Episode in progress → Media assets → Background.
Select the Background asset card you want to edit.
In the image area, select the Landscape images tab.
Select the add-image area or drag and drop files. They will be saved automatically.

📌 You can add up to 10 Portrait images and up to 10 Landscape images per Background. If you add more than one, one image will be chosen at random when a scene is created.

📌 Landscape images are optional. If none are registered, your existing Portrait images will appear in web play. You can save and publish even if only one orientation has images.

📌 To apply Landscape images to an episode that has already been published, add the images and then republish the episode. The Landscape images will be used starting with newly created play scenes; scenes that have already been created will keep their existing images.

Now you can enjoy Frontia in the environment that suits you best, on both the app and the web 🎮
