When are Stars used?
Last updated: July 21, 2026
In Episodes, Stars are used per turn; in Soul chat, per response generated. If generation fails, no Stars are used in either case.
Episodes: one deduction per turn
Entering a line, picking a choice, auto-play, and regenerating — each of these counts as 1 turn.
Sometimes no Stars are used at all
Playing the prologue, playing cutscenes, generations that fail with the "inappropriate content" message, and failed Soul responses in chat don't deduct any Stars.
Soul chat uses Stars too
In Soul chat, Stars are deducted per response generated. You're charged once when the Soul responds, and even if the response arrives split into several messages, you're still charged only once.
| Situation | Star usage |
|---|---|
| Soul response generated successfully | 10 Stars |
| Generation failed (timeout, server error, etc.) | No charge |
You can chat with free Stars, too. Also, if you have proactive messages turned on, Stars are deducted when a proactive message actually arrives.
Buying event info uses Stars as well
On an Episode's Event Map, you can unlock the entry conditions of events you haven't experienced yet for 300 Stars. Events you've already experienced can be checked for free, and prologue events aren't purchasable. For details, see How do I check my story progress?.
Usage varies by model
| Model | Per turn |
|---|---|
| Flare | 60 Stars |
| Glow | 60 Stars |
| Shining | 72 Stars |
| Wings | 10 Stars |
Switching models takes effect from the next scene (turn).
Tips for saving Stars
- Use Wings to play for 10 Stars per turn
- Cutting back on unnecessary regenerations saves Stars
